In essence, 'blessed' means to be happy, have a happy day..
As a child, walking behind my dad, I found coins on the sidewalk. Scooping them up I thought, "Wow. Money for me!" Catching up to my parent, I showed him my treasures. He said thank you as he turned his pocket inside out and showed me its hole. "I forgot o put my change from our lunch in the right pocket. Thank you for finding my money. "
As I handed it over, I thought, "This as not what I expected." Never forgotten, I always give back what I borrow - even if it is a nickel for the pop machine. A quality taught in childhood is part of one forever.
Kindness
It sometimes seems that people who love animals, in turn, have pets to love them. A pet depends on kindness - like food and a lap to curl up in - unless its fish or a parrot! Plant lovers care for their plants just as assiduously. Now kindness is water and kind words. Plant and and animals respond well to kind words. Research proves it.
People also respond well to kind words.
My grown son notes that I often make a request more as an order. I think it is left over from my teaching days when the student did not have the option not to follow directions. He decided not to help unless he hears please and thank you in the same request. "Would you please... and thank you very much for your help." Kindness brings a smile along with the help needed.
For me, peace begins in my own thoughts. It seems to be if I am stressed then all around me people are stressed. As a teacher my mood flew around the classroom and was immediately reflected back by the students. One day, having a bad headache, I asked the students if they would help me out for the day. Pop! Every student was right there to offer guidance and care. That turned the stress around and brought peace to the classroom.

College prepared me with a teaching background, but only experience could teach me the details. This included fatherly advice from the parent.
As a teacher and on my feet a lot, I had opted for comfortable shoes, colorful Keds to be exact. Sitting me down in that 'Now hear this' atmosphere, Dad noted that he had spent a lot of money on my education. "Very few women have a four year education," he reminded me. "Therefore, how you dress indicates your level of self-respect and the respect you expect from the students. Keds are not respect worthy." Heels became the norm gaining not only student respect, but also making me taller - which led to more respect.

Sincerity
"Sincerely yours" followed by one's name was an old-fashioned way of signing a letter. It meant that the letter came from the heart. Listening quietly to someone talking is a sincere form of caring. Times change, and it is now noticed that a conversation includes being on the cell phone at the same time. Text messages end with 'Chat soon!"
I was most grateful when a business friend noted that the proper greeting for an email had become, "I hope your day is going well" and the signing off was "My best to you for a good day." The word 'sincerely' was gone, but sincerity was back.

Thankful
For me thankful and gratitude seem to be the same. But after moving to another state, my new friends often stated their happiness for something good by saying how grateful they were for it. 'Thankful' took on a new role being said as in, "Thank for helping'. or 'Thanks for doing that." It's a quick way to recognize a favor or thoughtful action. As noted in the above statement, along with 'please' people are happier to help!

Good
'Good' has many meanings ranging from a 'good apple' to eat or a child being 'good' while in a store. And, in some languages, good also means God! For me to be good, means acting in an expected manner. I suppose, being in a humorous mood, I might say the apple is good when it tastes the way I expect. My pet is good when it acts as expected. Perhaps each of us has our own definition of good. Let us even consider the cartoon Charlie Brown saying, "Good grief!" when something amazing happens.
Gracious
'Gracious' is used to describe someone's behavior. This long ago word isn't heard as often today. Full of grace, it's a loving aspect of polite behavior. I think of someone sipping tea from a floral teacup of porcelain. A hand extends for a firm handshake accompanied by a loving smile. There is a gentle aspect to gracious, the person is not in a hurry, has time to listen, makes one feel accepted.
